Every system here is already built and running in production
for a real business. Pick the ones you want — Banwell Designs runs them all
for one flat rate: $99 a month.
1. Grow & keep your audience
Newsletter sign-up
LIVE — Pretty Pills Fan list sign-up next to the booking form on prettypills.banwelldesigner.com — every show adds emails the band owns.
What you get: A clean "join our list" box on your site that collects emails so you build an audience you own — not renting it from social media.
How we build it: Email-capture form on the site → stored to the client's list (portal DB / mail store). No third-party list fee.
Automatic newsletter — written & sent for you
LIVE — Chico Fab Lab Fab Lab Monthly, September issue — assembled from the month's shop news and events and sent to the whole member list. The owner approves; nobody sits down to write it.
What you get: A real newsletter goes out on a schedule without you writing a word. It's built from stuff you're already producing — your recent social posts, new 5-star reviews, upcoming events, new products. You just approve it (or don't).
How we build it: Agent *farms* content from the client's connected sources (Buffer/social feed, review stream, event list, product changes) → Claude drafts the issue → send via our mail sender (Banwell Designs mail / SMTP relay). Owner gets a one-tap approve in their room.
2. Reputation — win the trust that wins customers
Review prompting (get more 5-star reviews)
EXAMPLE — real service copy The after-visit ask, sent automatically from our live text line — a 20-second tap for the customer, a steady stream of 5-star reviews for the business.
What you get: After someone buys or visits, the system automatically reaches out and asks them to leave a Google review — at the right moment, in your voice. More reviews = you rank higher and more people choose you.
How we build it: Review engine — pulls recent customers (from bookings/sales/ CRM), sends the ask via Twilio SMS or email with a direct Google-review deep link, throttled + timed. Can target Google, Yelp, or others.
Google Business Profile management
LIVE — Jaco Beach Chef The actual Google listing we manage: 5.0 stars, photos, hours, and the website link — the first thing anyone searching the business name sees.
What you get: Your Google listing (the thing that shows up in Maps and search) stays fresh — posts, offers, hours, photos — without you touching it. That listing is where most local customers actually find you.
How we build it: Post to GBP via Buffer's native googlebusiness channel (WhatsNew/Offer/Event posts) — same Buffer account we run the client's social from.
3. Take bookings & payments (keep your money)
Reservation / booking system
LIVE — Snorkel Jaco The real booking form on snorkeljaco.com: pick a date and slot, pay by card — money lands straight in the owner's Square.
What you get: Customers book you online — a calendar, or a simple request form. It syncs to your real calendar so you never get double-booked. Need to block off this afternoon last-minute? Just message the chat and it's done — no app to learn.
How we build it: Booking module on the site (calendar + request form) synced to the client's calendar for availability; the agent adjusts availability on a plain-language message in the portal room. Deposits/paid bookings via Square API.
Online store / e-commerce that beats Shopify & Etsy fees
LIVE — Banwell Designs Our own storefront running on this exact rail — full catalog, wholesale tiers, Square checkout. No monthly platform fee, card fee only.
What you get: Sell products or services right on your site — and keep your money. On the big platforms the fees stack up; with us you pay ONLY the card-processing fee. No monthly store subscription, no listing fees, no platform commission, no forced ad fees. Already on Etsy or Shopify? We do the switchover for you. Both platforms let you export your whole shop in one click — the agent pulls in your products, prices, photos, and descriptions and stands up your new store in minutes, without all the fees.
The fee math (2026 rates, US):
Etsy: $0.20 listing fee per item + 6.5% transaction fee + 3% + $0.25 payment processing — roughly 10% of a typical sale gone, and if the sale came through Etsy's Offsite Ads they take another 12–15% on top.
Shopify: $39/mo Basic subscription + 2.9% + $0.30 processing (worse if you don't use Shopify Payments — they add an extra transaction fee).
Ours (Square rail): just the card fee — 3.3% + $0.30 online (2.9% on Square's paid plans). Zero listing fees, zero commission, zero store subscription stacked on top of your site.
Worked example, $1,000/mo in sales at ~$30 orders: Etsy ≈ $110/mo in fees (before any Offsite Ads), Shopify Basic ≈ $78/mo, ours ≈ $43/mo. The gap widens as volume grows.
And the slow-month clincher: you only pay when you sell. A month with zero sales costs you $0 — Shopify bills its $39 subscription whether you sold anything or not, and Etsy still charges listing fees to keep items up. Costs scale with your actual sales, never against them.
How we build it: Square API checkout wired into the client's site by the agent; money lands in the client's Square account, we hold the API token (control plane). Client never touches the Square dashboard — price changes, inventory, refunds all happen by asking the agent. (See PIPELINE.md — commerce rail.)
Event listings + auto social posting
LIVE — Maker Radio The Maker Radio events page — every listing added here fans out to social channels automatically.
What you get: Post an event once on your site and it automatically announces itself across your social channels and Google — no re-typing the same thing five times.
How we build it: Event list on the site → agent fans each event out via the Buffer API to IG/TikTok/GBP (FB via the IG→FB mirror).
Event intake + ticketing publish (the full events desk)
LIVE — Maker Radio The real event-intake page on makerradio.org: performers submit once, and the desk fans it out — website listing, social posts, newsletter feature, and on-air spots.
What you get: A "submit your event" form on your site (great when performers, vendors, or community members bring events TO you), a one-tap approve step so nothing goes public without your OK, and approved events auto-published to Eventbrite — which syncs them to Facebook Events — plus an embeddable calendar widget you can drop on any page. The whole events desk, run for you.
How we build it: The Maker Radio events system, generalized (live in production: public submission form → admin review → Eventbrite API publish → FB sync, embeddable widget, email notifications; Node+SQLite). Approval moves into the client's portal room; Buffer fan-out (above) rides on top.
Sell tickets yourself — skip the Eventbrite fees
LIVE — Maker Radio A real $20-ticket show listed on the venue's own site — sold there, the Eventbrite cut stays in the room.
What you get: Ticket sales on YOUR site instead of Eventbrite's. Eventbrite charges 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket PLUS 2.9% processing — on a $25 ticket that's about $3.44 (13.8%); on a $50 ticket about $5.09. Usually the BUYER eats that, which quietly makes your event more expensive than the price you set. Our ticketing runs on plain card processing (3.3% + $0.30 — about $1.13 on that same $25 ticket), so you either sell cheaper tickets than the competition or pocket the difference. No subscription, no upfront cost — an event that sells nothing costs you nothing. Buyers get an emailed ticket with a QR code; you get a door check-in list on your phone.
How we build it: Ticket page on the client's site → Square API checkout (money straight to the CLIENT's Square, our standard commerce rail — precedent: the jacosnorkel charge server) → confirmation email with QR/code via Banwell Designs mail → simple check-in page (scan or tap-off list) backed by the sales record. Refunds/comps by asking the agent. Honest trade-off we tell clients: Eventbrite also brings its browsing AUDIENCE — for pure-discovery events we can still cross-list there (entry above) while selling the real inventory fee-free on their own site.
Membership / subscriptions
LIVE — Chico Fab Lab A membership-run makerspace: join online, pay monthly, member-gated systems behind it — 501(c)(3), 7am–12am access.
What you get: Recurring income — memberships or subscriptions with different tiers, each with its own price and perks (VIP, monthly club, supporter levels, whatever fits). Bills automatically every month, chases lapsed payers for you, and gives every member their own login. You see who's current, who's slipping, and what recurring revenue looks like on one dashboard.
How we build it: Square subscription plans (multi-variation = tiers) via API, gated benefits handled on the site; recurring billing to the client's Square. Operational layer proven live on the CFL member system: payment reconciliation against Square, auto-dunning of lapsed payers, churn tracking, member identity/login with role gating, KPI dashboard (kiosk/TV mode available).
Physical door access tied to membership
EXAMPLE — pattern runs live at Chico Fab Lab The moment the systems connect: membership current means the door opens; lapsed means it doesn't — codes issued and revoked automatically, nobody edits a keypad. The code system runs in production at Chico Fab Lab.
What you get: Your front door knows who's a paying member. Member in good standing = their code/fob/phone opens the door, even at midnight with no staff. Payment lapses = access shuts off automatically, and turns back on the moment they pay. Perfect for gyms, makerspaces, studios, co-working, rehearsal spaces — anywhere you sell access to a physical space.
How we build it: Membership status (from the Square-billed member system above) drives the lock: internet-connected smart lock / access controller (keypad-code, fob, or app-unlock hardware with an API — or a relay-driven maglock/strike for full control), agent rotates/revokes credentials on payment events. Entry log feeds the member dashboard. Gating: requires compatible lock hardware at the space (one-time hardware cost, client's building/landlord permission where applicable).
4. Never miss a customer (communications automation)
Missed-call text-back
EXAMPLE — real service copy What the caller sees seconds after the missed call — sent from our live text-back line, (844) 543-9620. Real message copy, staged phone.
What you get: When you can't pick up, the customer instantly gets a friendly text — "Sorry we missed you! How can we help?" — so the lead doesn't just call your competitor. You also get their number and info handed to you.
How we build it: Twilio voice webhook on the business line — on missed/no-answer, auto-fire an SMS to the caller + drop the caller's info into the client's room/CRM.
Automated calling & texting
EXAMPLE — real service copy An appointment-reminder thread from our text line: confirm with one letter, get a same-day heads-up — no-shows drop without anyone making calls.
What you get: Appointment reminders, confirmations, follow-ups, "your order's ready" — all sent automatically by text or voice, so you stop doing it by hand.
How we build it: Twilio SMS/voice, triggered off bookings/orders/CRM events; templated + scheduled by the agent.
AI inquiry concierge — your website answers back
EXAMPLE — real system copy An 11 PM inquiry answered in seconds — availability, first-timer reassurance, and a booking link — while the owner sleeps. Every conversation is logged for morning coffee.
What you get: When someone fills out your contact form (or texts, or emails), they get a real, helpful answer in seconds — at 2 AM, on Sunday, while you're with a customer. The AI answers the easy questions, qualifies the serious buyers, and pings your phone with the ones worth your time. Leads stop going cold waiting for a reply.
How we build it: Contact-form/inbound watcher (proven live on the Maker Radio site: message poller → event spool → agent triage) feeding the client's agent, which drafts the reply in the client's voice; escalation to the owner via SMS/room ping; every exchange logged to the CRM. Pairs with missed-call text-back and the lead-event beacon (beacon counts leads, this one ANSWERS them).
5. Lead generation — find new customers and get them to buy
Email campaigns
LIVE — Banwell Designs A real campaign from our own store, straight out of the pipeline — written, rendered, and sent by the system; the owner just approved it.
What you get: Targeted email blasts to prospects and past customers that bring people back and pull new ones in.
How we build it: Agent-built list + Claude-drafted campaign → mail sender; tracked opens/clicks where possible.
Text (SMS) campaigns
EXAMPLE — real campaign copy A promo blast to the customer list — show-the-text offers drive same-day walk-ins, and replies come back to a line the system answers.
What you get: Text campaigns — the highest open-rate channel there is — to announce offers, events, or re-engage quiet customers.
How we build it: Twilio SMS broadcast to opted-in lists (10DLC registration required for volume — see gating note below).
WhatsApp campaigns
EXAMPLE — real system copy Same campaign muscle on WhatsApp — where international customers actually are. A conditions update turns into held spots and a booking link in three messages.
What you get: Reach customers on WhatsApp (huge for international / Latino markets) with the same campaign power.
How we build it: Twilio WhatsApp (our wa-bridge stack) — templated sends, per-market translation available (proven: Spanish auto-translate on Eco Garden).
Dialer + CRM (the Banwell dialer)
LIVE — Banwell Designs The real dialer mid-campaign: 231 leads loaded, time-zone windows showing who's open right now, call notes carrying context from call to call. (Numbers blurred.)
What you get: A calling system that turns a list of prospects into booked customers. It's a phone that lives in your web browser — one click to call the next lead, calls in ring straight to it, and every lead's notes, email, and status are tracked in one place so nobody falls through the cracks.
How we build it: The Banwell browser dialer (Twilio softphone at dialer.sites.banwelldesigns.com, line 530-230-1335): click-to-dial out, inbound rings any open browser, built-in lead list/CRM (rep_leads.csv per rep), add-lead + email-lead + market-tagging. Rebrandable per client.
CRM
LIVE — Banwell Designs wholesale The live database behind our wholesale program — 2,705 researched prospects, every contact and conversation on record. (Emails blurred.)
What you get: One tidy place for all your customers and leads — who they are, what they bought, when to follow up — instead of sticky notes and lost texts.
How we build it: Lead/customer store fed by the dialer, booking, sales, and review systems; surfaced in the client's portal room.
Managed Google Ads campaigns
EXAMPLE — real report format The Monday report a client gets: spend against THEIR cap, cost per lead, and what we changed and why — in plain English, no dashboard to learn.
What you get: Someone who actually runs your Google Ads for you — picks the keywords real buyers type, writes the ads, sets the budget cap, watches what each lead costs, and kills what doesn't work. You approve the budget; we run the machine and report what every dollar bought.
How we build it: Google Ads (expert mode, no Smart-campaign autopilot) on the CLIENT's account and card with a hard daily cap; conversion tracking (gtag) cross-checked against our own lead-event beacon so ad-platform numbers never go unverified; results in the morning/weekly traffic report. Campaign structure per market (proven pattern: Bill's ADS-PLAN — search-intent first, one campaign per offer, competitor-name interception where it fits).
SEO — get found on Google without paying per click
LIVE — real server-log data Actual Google clicks from our own server logs — 73 in one day to a content site we write and run, $0 per click. Each page answers a question people really type.
What you get: Your site built and tuned so Google sends you customers for free: the right page for each thing people search, fast load, proper titles, your Google Business Profile fed and current, and content added over time that climbs the rankings. Slower than ads, but the traffic is free forever.
How we build it: On-page SEO baked into every build (semantic HTML, titles/ meta, schema.org markup, mobile-fast static pages on our nginx); GBP posting via Buffer; content hub pages the agent drafts and publishes (guide pages, FAQ, location/service pages); rank + organic-referrer tracking through the traffic report so progress is visible, never vibes.
6. Grow through your network — affiliate / referral
_Not just fans — other BUSINESSES refer too (the hotel front desk, the tour guide, the complementary shop next door). The network is bigger than the customer list._
Affiliate & referral program
LIVE — Snorkel Jaco The live partner page: hotels, guides, and shops sign up, send guests, and get paid per booking — every referral tracked.
What you get: Turn your whole network into a sales force — happy customers AND other businesses that touch your customers. "Send us a new customer, get $20" (or a standing cut for a business partner). Trackable referral links/codes, automatic reward payouts.
How we build it: Referral links/codes tracked to the CRM; reward payouts via Square. Attribution beacon (same tech as our gift-demo tracking pixels).
Personalized QR referral cards
LIVE — real partner QRs Actual partner cards from the Snorkel Jaco program — each QR carries that partner's permanent code, so every scan credits the right referrer.
What you get: Every partner, past customer, or local business that sends you work gets their OWN QR code — on a card, a sticker, a flyer, a counter display. Someone scans it, lands on your site, and the sale is credited to whoever's code it was — so you know exactly who your best referrers are and can reward them. Works for the physical world the way referral links work online: hotel front desks, tour guides, barbershop counters, past-customer thank-you cards.
How we build it: Live precedent: the Snorkel Jaco partner program. Per-partner short codes (ambiguity-free alphabet, codes never rotate so printed QRs stay valid forever), QR PNGs auto-generated per code encoding a tracked landing URL (?ref=CODE), scans/visits attributed in the traffic beacon + CRM, print-ready assets handed to the client. Rewards paid via Square. Pairs with the affiliate program above — same tracking spine, physical-world front end.
7. Private messaging & team chat
Private messaging workspace (your own Discord/Slack clone)
LIVE — client portal The real client portal login — each client gets a private, branded workspace where they chat changes into existence.
What you get: Your own full messaging system — not a Discord server or a Slack account, a complete clone that YOU own, carrying your branding on every screen. Channels for teams and projects, direct messages, file and photo sharing, works on phone and desktop. Run it internally for your workforce, or public-facing — invite clients into their own private channels. No Slack per-seat fees, no Discord ads, no third party reading your business conversations — and your AI assistant can live in it too, answering questions right in the chat.
How we build it: The same Matrix stack our own client portal runs on (Conduit homeserver + branded Element web client) — battle-tested here daily. Invite-only rooms, per-room permissions, mobile via the Element app, full data ownership on our server (or theirs). Optional: WhatsApp/SMS bridging for members who won't install anything (proven: our wa-bridge), and the client's agent as a member of any room. Scales from a 3-person shop to a whole org.
8. Team, volunteers & operations
Volunteer / crew task board (with public display mode)
LIVE — Chico Fab Lab The real board at tasks.chicofl.org: open tasks with bounties, who's active, what just got done — the crew organizes itself in public.
What you get: One board where your staff, crew, or volunteers see what needs doing, claim tasks, and log their hours — plus a TV/kiosk mode you can put on a screen at your space so progress (and recognition) is visible to everyone. Great for nonprofits: volunteer-hour totals come out ready for grant reports.
How we build it: The CFL volunteer board, generalized (live in production: Next.js + PocketBase, real-time updates, hours tracking, project showcase, public TV display mode; Discord or Matrix login). Pairs naturally with the private messaging workspace (section 7).
Numbers-on-the-wall dashboard
EXAMPLE — live pattern at Chico Fab Lab What your wall screen shows: today's sales, bookings, reviews, the week's trend, and what's coming up — pulled automatically, no one compiles a report. The real one runs 24/7 at Chico Fab Lab on a Raspberry Pi.
What you get: A live dashboard on a screen at your business — today's members, sales, bookings, reviews — updated automatically. Your team sees the score without anyone compiling a report.
How we build it: The CFL kiosk pattern (live: data pulls on cron → JSON → static HTML on a Raspberry Pi / any TV browser). Feeds from whatever systems the client runs (Square, bookings, member system, traffic report).
EXAMPLE — real alert copy What the owner's phone shows when something breaks at 2 AM: the alert, then the all-clear six minutes later — usually before anyone noticed.
What you get: We watch the thing your business dies without — site down, booking form broken, checkout failing, live stream gone silent — and your phone (and ours) buzzes within minutes, usually before any customer notices. Most owners find out something broke from an angry customer days later; you find out first.
How we build it: The Maker Radio silence/stream monitor pattern, generalized (live for years: cron/daemon probes + push alerts via our Holla/FCM notifier). Per-client checks: HTTP 200 + content match, form-submit synthetic test, checkout ping, stream/audio level where relevant. Near-zero cost to run — we already operate the infrastructure for ourselves.
10. Studio & specialty services
Audio production pipeline (for music & media clients)
LIVE — The Crash Carts A Crash Carts master straight out of the pipeline — loudness-normalized, radio-ready, delivered to streaming and airplay.
What you get: Broadcast-ready audio without a studio bill for every track — loudness mastering to streaming/broadcast standards, A/B approval (you hear before/after and tap approve), clean/radio-edit versions with profanity handling, and automatic delivery to wherever it airs.
How we build it: The Maker Radio audio stack (live: LUFS volume normalizer with A/B approval UI, censor pipeline in the music curator, upload worker for automated delivery). Proven client-facing once already (Crash Carts mastering). Also the engine behind sync-catalog auto-tagging (Red Carpet tenant #3).
Product configurator / design-your-own tool
LIVE — Banwell Designs Paper Lab The shadowbox designer running in production: upload art, it splits into laser-cut paper layers — pick the paper color per layer, download cut-ready files. Same pattern powers any design-your-own product.
What you get: Customers design their custom product right on your site — pick options, see it rendered, get a price — and the order arrives with the exact spec. Kills the endless back-and-forth quote emails custom makers drown in.
How we build it: Pattern proven by the shadowbox designer (live: Next.js + PocketBase + AI image generation via ComfyUI). Per-client: options model + pricing rules + Square checkout on the end. Scope varies — quote per client.
Layer note — how this maps to the pipeline
These are the à-la-carte systems that bolt onto a launched site (PIPELINE.md stage 6–7 territory). Sold client → site built → portal → payment → DNS → Buffer connect → then pick the systems above the business needs. Each rides an already- proven rail (Square / Buffer / Twilio / dialer / review engine), so adding one to a new client is configuration, not invention.
Gating / prerequisites to flag honestly (internal)
SMS/WhatsApp campaigns + missed-call-text at volume need Twilio 10DLC/ toll-free registration (open commitment — the Banwell account has no 10DLC brand yet). Low-volume/transactional works now; high-volume campaigning waits on that.
Review prompting / campaigns must respect opt-in + anti-spam (TCPA) — only contact customers with a real relationship + consent.
GBP posting rides Buffer's googlebusiness channel — validate on first live client (same as the FB two-fer validation).
The flat rate
$99/month covers every system on this page. Pick as many
as fit your business — the price doesn't change. The only cost that isn't
ours to include is money that goes to third parties: your advertising budget
and phone-carrier usage (calls, texts, WhatsApp) are billed at cost, on your
account, with no markup. We manage the spend; we don't take a cut of it.
Want new customers hunted down for you? Beyond running
your systems, we also build outbound lead-generation campaigns — an AI
prospector that works every day finding and contacting your next clients.
That's a separate engagement; ask us about it.
